Oswestry

The Battalion moved  in August 1960, to Wingate Lines Park Hall Camp until this time a strong hold of the Royal Artillery.
The main body arrived at Gobowen station and then were conveyed by transport to the outskirts
of Park Hall camp and then marched into camp headed by their commanding Officer Lt. Col F.H. Coutts
passed Brig D.A.K.W. Block who took the salute.  The band was the Royal Artillery Plymouth Band  the played  a selection of Regimental marches of all Infantry Regiments  except those whose marches are  played at a faster pace.
The Battalion  hoped to increase its numbers  over the next two years to 800.
Parents are always welcome to visit the Battalion and the boys were encouraged to invite them to the passing out parades.
The Juniors who marched passed on  Wednesday were soon off after a couple of days on their annual leave, returning in September to start a new term.
